  1. What are the system requirements for iPodRip?

    • Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5 or Windows XP or Vista
    • iTunes 8.0

  2. Does iPodRip work with Mac OS 10.3 or earlier?

    No.

  3. Why can't iPodRip detect my iPod?

    The likely problem is that the iPod is not in "disk use" mode. If you do not have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, please follow this guide to enable disk use. After completing the steps (if you have Mac OS X, your iPod should appear on the desktop by this point), simply restarting iPodRip should resolve the issue. If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone, please try restarting both iTunes and iPodRip to resolve the problem.

  4. Why is my transfer going so slowly?

    If your transfer is going abnormally slowly (i.e. taking more than a few seconds per song), make sure that you've closed any dialogue windows iTunes has open. If iTunes is asking you to "Erase and sync" your iPod, make sure you hit "Cancel" on that. If that causes iPodRip to not be able to see your iPod, please make sure you have "disk use" enabled, as per this guide.

  5. Why doesn't my registration work?

    If the "Activate Now" link fails to work, the alternative is manually registering the application. This can be done with the following steps:

    1. Open the iPodRip application.
    2. If you have a Mac, Select "iPodRip" then "Registration..." from the menu bar at top of the screen. If you have Windows, select "Register" from the black floating window.
    3. Copy and paste your licensee name and serial number from your registration information into the boxes. Be careful and make sure your details are entered exactly as they appear in your registration (we highly recommend copying and pasting).
    4. Once entered correctly, iPodRip notify you of the successful registration.

  6. I think I've found a bug or the application is crashing or I would like to make a request for a feature. How do I do this?

    Use the contact form at the top of this page and we'll do our best to assist as soon as possible.

  7. Which iPods does iPodRip support?

    We currently support all iPods, including the iPod Touch and the iPhone.

  8. iPodRip is not launching on my Mac, what's the problem?

    Please ensure you have iTunes 8 or Mac OS 10.4 or later. If you do and the problem is still occurring please contact us.

  9. iPodRip freezes or stalls when I try to import songs. What is the problem?

    Usually this issue can be resolved by making sure iTunes is open and running, and that the only window iTunes has open is the main window. Make sure the preferences window is closed and that iTunes is displaying no warnings concerning your attached iPod.
